CISS is a system of connected vessels designed to supply ink as it is used up in the printer cartridge from donor tanks. The ink is supplied through elastic tubes that connect the printer cartridges and ink tanks. Due to the rarefaction created in the cartridge chamber during operation, the ink from the tubes fills the place of the spent ink during the printing process.
