Optical adapters (sockets) are intended for connecting or connecting connectors installed on optical connecting and mounting cords. They are used in the patch panel of optical crossovers, active equipment and measuring devices. LC-type adapters are always pass-through (i.e., connectors connect to them from both sides) and are also used for precise centering of connector tips. The tips are centered in special bushings, which for multimode adapters are usually made of bronze, and for single-mode adapters - of ceramics.
Adapters for angle-polished connectors (APC) require stricter tolerances on the dimensions of the housing, especially the elements of fixing the connector and its key.
LC adapter (simplex). The body of the adapter is made of plastic in different colors: beige for multimode applications, blue for single-mode applications. The adapter is attached to the patch panel using a plastic stopper.
LC adapter (duplex). Designed for connecting duplex optical cords. The body of the adapter is made of plastic in different colors: beige for multimode applications, blue for single-mode applications. The adapter is attached using a plastic stopper.
