The destruction of the Teflon coating begins only at a temperature above 350°C, which is unlikely both in everyday life and in printing technologies. Teflon coating is reliable and durable. This quality is also used when solving problems in the field of laser printing technologies. A lamp is installed inside this empty cylinder. This powerful glow causes heating of the surrounding elements, including the Teflon shaft. The temperature sensor allows you to keep the temperature of the shaft constant, and when peak indicators are reached, it turns off the heating lamp and thereby saves it from failure. This method of fixation has a small disadvantage - it gets dirty over time.

In order to avoid toner sticking to Teflon, manufacturers added a cleaning roller to the scheme. Its correct name is "felt shaft". It is impregnated with a special liquid that slightly lubricates Teflon. It itself also performs the function of a towel, that is, removes dirt, toner and paper dust. This ensures the output of clean prints and prevents overheating of the lamp installed inside the Teflon drum. There can be two of them. One cleans the pressure rubber roller, the other monitors the cleanliness of Teflon. Thus, the cleanliness of the printouts and the long service life of the furnace are ensured. The felt is changed either based on the mileage of the device, or by visual determination of the technical condition. If the pleasant white color turned black, then it was necessary to change several thousand pages back. Felt is very cheap, and it can be changed at any service center.
