The new revision differs from the first version in that it functions under the control of the latest released software called AirOs 8. The access point, just like the previous one, uses the AirMax AC protocol for communication. It differs from Wi-Fi by using the TDMA Polling scheme, and thus the manufacturer was able to eliminate collisions. The bandwidth of the second generation access point reaches a value of 450 Mbit / sec.

The ESD protection scheme has been improved and is now even more reliable. The regular LBE-5AC-Gen2 radio module has a power of 25 dbm with a directional antenna gain of 23 dbi. Such characteristics make it possible to create a link at a distance of 20 km, and with direct line of sight between the devices, and more.

Of course, these data are approximate, because a lot depends on the state of the radio broadcast and the weather. LBE 5AC-Gen2 has a shock-resistant case and effective protection against moisture, dust and other unpleasant environmental influences.
