Inspired by the success of mAP 2n, Mikrotik decided to develop the model range by releasing mAP lite.

mAP lite boasts record small dimensions, all 5x5x1 cm. A standard shielded Ethernet port is 15mm tall, not including the pins that need to be soldered into the PCB, so the engineers used a special port similar to those used in ultra-thin notebooks. All this made it possible to reduce the thickness of the device from 19 to 11 mm. In order to reduce the width of the device, only one port was used instead of two, as in mAP 2n.

Technical features of RBmAPL-2nD
The amount of RAM is 32 MB, which is more than enough for any field of use. As for the processor, the mAP lite is equipped with exactly the same processor as the hAP lite TC - Qualcomm Atheros QCA9533, which operates at a frequency of 650 MHz. The QCA9533 is a modification of the QCA9531, which has proven itself well before in other devices of the company. High performance combined with low power consumption (<4 W) and heat generation is an ideal combination for a portable router.

QCA9533 has a built-in wireless module with support for modern standards 802.11 b/g/n MIMO 2x2:2 configuration. Both antennas are built-in and have a gain of 1.5 dBi. From the experience of hAP lite, we can say with absolute confidence that such a configuration, despite its miniature size, provides a reliable and high-quality coverage radius.

There are 2 ways to power mAP lite - using the included adapter via microUSB or via PoE. RBmAPL-2nD supports both Passive PoE and 802.3 at at the same time. At the same time, the range of input voltage can vary from 5 to 60 V.

Scope of application of mAP lite
The router can be used as a "travel" router to create a wireless network where there is none. Not every hotel is equipped with Wi-Fi, or provides a router for a fee, in these cases mAP lite will be an indispensable assistant.

The device operates under RouterOS with the 4th license level, which significantly expands capabilities and functionality. In the default configuration, the device works in AP (access point) mode, but if necessary, you can configure the mAP lite as a CPE by connecting to a remote wireless network. In terms of reception quality, the RBmAPL-2nD can compete with most laptops, thus providing faster network connection speeds than a built-in laptop adapter.

Extended PoE support allows you to connect the mAP lite to a suitable switch or router in a server rack, adding basic wireless support where there is none.

The router is fixed using a built-in magnet, if the mounting base is not metal, the kit includes a special metal plate on a sticky base.
