ASUS ZenDrive U9M is an external DVD recording drive built into a slim case with a distinctive Zen-style design. Thanks to the support of USB Type-A and Type-C interfaces, it can be easily connected to any modern computer.

ASUS ZenDrive U9M has a housing with a thickness of only 13 mm, which makes it an ideal accessory for thin and light notebooks. It's adorned with a concentric circle-like finish typical of Zen-styled ASUS devices.

Using the included cables, this drive can be connected to both the traditional Type-A connector and the reversible Type-C connector.

Unlike many other optical drives, ASUS ZenDrive U9M is compatible with M-Disc format media, which can store information recorded on them for more than a thousand years, while traditional hard drives and "flash drives" are guaranteed to serve no more than a decade. M-Disc technology is an ideal means of archival storage of particularly valuable data.

The software package supplied with ASUS ZenDrive U9M includes Nero BackItUp - a convenient data backup tool for Android smartphones and tablets, CyberLink Power2Go 8 - a tool for recording optical drives with the function of encrypting confidential files, as well as PowerBackup - an automated backup system for computers.
