The lens has a built-in stabilizer that allows you to significantly reduce image blur caused by camera shake during shooting. The operation of the stabilizer is based on the indications of the gyroscopic sensor, which, upon registering unwanted oscillations, signals the need for corrective movement of a special group of lenses in the direction perpendicular to the optical axis. The image stabilizer provides a "reserve" for three levels of exposure.

The EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM model is equipped with a ring ultrasonic drive that provides high speed and accuracy of autofocus with a low noise level. A powerful processor, an improved autofocus algorithm and a clear fixation of the lenses in a given position also contribute to the accuracy of focusing.
