Unlike the past, flat NAND microcircuits, 3D NAND flash memory cells are located in several planes and can be located on top of each other. 3D NAND technology is designed to overcome the existing limitations of the density of flash memory cells, as well as to increase the level of performance and durability of this type of memory.

Compliant with M.2 Type 2242 and 2280 standards, Transcend's 3D NAND flash memory-based solid-state drives are ideal for installation in Ultrabooks and other lightweight notebooks. At just 80mm long, the 820S solid-state drives in the M.2 form factor are designed to simplify the task of upgrading your computer's configuration as much as possible - they are extremely compact, but have all the necessary technical capabilities.

Equipped with a SATA III 6 Gbit/s interface and a performance controller, the Transcend 820S solid-state drives in the M.2 form factor provide incredibly high maximum read speeds of 550 MB/s and write speeds of 500 MB/s. When using the cache, the 820S drive reduces computer boot time by 1.5 times compared to traditional hard drives.

Designed for high-performance systems, the 820S drives demonstrate performance of up to 75,000 IOPS in random file read and write operations for 4K data blocks. They reduce computer loading time and provide almost instantaneous system response when working with resource-intensive graphic and multimedia programs.

Despite their incredibly small size, the 820S solid-state drives have a number of functions and features that allow you to increase their performance. They support RAID technology and have built-in SLC cache, and use LDPC encoding for error correction and data integrity.
