Network switch ZyXel MES3500-10 (MES3500-10-EU01V1F)

ZyXel MES3500-10 network switch (MES3500-10-EU01V1F) is intended for installation at the access level in operator networks of any scale in order to provide access to the Internet, IPTV and packet telephony to home users. The switch has 8 10/100 Mbit / s Ethernet ports and 2 SFP slots for connection to the trunk, each of which is connected to 1000BASE-T copper ports.

The compact dimensions of the case, the location of the connectors on the front panel, the fanless design of the cooling system and the extended operating temperature range allow this switch to be used in places with adverse weather conditions and limited space in the telecommunications cabinet. Connecting subscribers can be completely isolated from each other and any attacks on the authorization and billing server will be stopped at the subscriber port.

Protection of the traffic intended for the user can be done with the help of ACL access control lists, VLAN assignment per subscriber, and also with the help of IP Source Guard. Any unauthorized MAC addresses will be filtered on each subscriber port and any loops that occur will not cause problems for the network because the corresponding interfaces will be automatically disabled by the loopback detection function.

Extensive management capabilities include SNMP, web interface, and command line administration. Simultaneous support of IPv6 and IPv4 through the Dual Stack function allows you to use the switch in networks where the transition to IPv6 is actively underway. Traffic can be analyzed with the Port Mirroring function and statistics collected using sFlow. With the help of the LLDP function, all information about the topologies of the existing network can be obtained.

Channel diagnostics and network topology error detection are monitored using the 802.1ag CFM function. Each system administrator has a certain privilege to access the administration and can connect remotely via SSH and SSL. Any service offered to the subscriber can be prioritized by 802.1p, be it voice, data transmission or IPTV. Multicast processing is performed by IGMP / IGMP Snooping v1, v2, v3 and MLD Snooping Proxy functions, and prevention of broadcast packets is also configured.
