Ubiquiti ES-10X network switch

Ubiquiti ES-10X network switch is a compact switch that is perfect for use as a network switching node with both medium and high traffic load levels. A feature of the model is the possibility of connecting to optical fiber.

The switch received 8 gigabit RG45 ports for connecting twisted pairs, as well as 2 slots of the SFP standard to connect to optical fiber. Thus, EdgeSwitch 10x can also be used as a small provider switch, for example, if it is necessary to branch traffic between subscribers in a townhouse or low-rise apartment, where the number of apartments per entrance is small and the installation of full-size switches is clearly superfluous.

The device organizes power supply in two ways, both with the use of a 24v DC power supply unit and with the PoE scheme. PoE (Passthrough) transmission is available on port number 8. Traditionally for Ubiquiti equipment, the EdgeSwitch 10x network interface is equipped with an LED status indicator. To check the presence or absence of a connection on any of the ports, as well as to evaluate its activity, a single cursory glance at the switchboard of the device is enough.

It should be noted separately that the switch can be placed on a desktop or installed in a server rack using special EdgeMAX Universal Rack Mount Kit fasteners.

Centralized management is available using the Ubiquiti Network Management System software. It has a convenient interface and allows you to manage the EdgeMAX network from a single point. When using the ER-RMKIT (sold separately), the EdgeSwitch 10X is conveniently installed in a standard rack. The use of passive cooling makes the switch completely silent and reduces power consumption by 50% compared to the previous generation EdgeSwitch XP.
