The D-Link DES-1008P 8-port switch with 4 PoE ports allows users to easily connect and provide power over Ethernet (PoE) to devices such as wireless access points (APs), IP cameras, or IP phones. The switch also allows you to connect additional Ethernet devices to the network, such as computers, printers, and network attached storage (NAS). Designed specifically for home users and small businesses, this compact PoE switch works silently, allowing you to place it in almost any room or office.
The 4 ports of the DES-1008P switch support the IEEE 802.3 af PoE standard. Each PoE port delivers up to 15.4W of power for a total switch budget of 58W, allowing users to connect 802.3 af compliant devices to the DES-1008P. This allows you to place equipment in hard-to-reach places, regardless of the location of electrical outlets and minimize cable laying. If the device does not support PoE, use the DWL-P50 adapter, which can convert any Ethernet port into a PoE-enabled port.
