D-Link DES-1008D network switch

The D-Link DES-1008D network switch is an unmanaged 10/100 Mbit/s switch designed to increase the productivity of a small group of users while providing a high level of flexibility. Powerful yet easy to use, the DES-1008D allows users to effortlessly connect 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps network equipment to any port, reducing response time and meeting high network bandwidth needs.

The flow control function prevents packets from being transmitted, which could lead to their loss, by sending a signal about possible overflow on a port whose buffer is full. The suspension of packets continues until the non-port buffer is ready to accept new data. Flow control is implemented for full and half duplex modes.

With 8 plug-and-play ports, the D-Link DES-1008D/PRO switch is an ideal choice for small workgroup networks to increase productivity between workstations and servers. Ports can be connected to servers in full-duplex mode, or to a hub in half-duplex mode.

The D-Link DES-1008D/PRO switch can be used to connect computers directly, as it has a low connection cost per port. This prevents the possibility of 'bottlenecks' by giving each computer on the network dedicated bandwidth.
