Photodrum is one of the most important components of any laser cartridge.
Its resource is about 10 thousand pages.
It is a cylinder covered with a photoconductive material, with the help of which the text or image is superimposed on the paper.
The photodrum is charged from the shaft of the primary charge, after which the laser gun applies the print pattern with a charge of the opposite value, then the toner from the magnetic shaft sticks to these areas, which is printed on a sheet of paper.
Wear occurs due to the friction of the photo drum against a sheet of paper and the cleaning blade.
This is a rather delicate and fragile part that can easily be damaged by a paper clip that fell into the printer or an object left in the paper feed tray.
As a result, black dots appear on the drum, in the case of minor damage, or a solid black band across the sheet, if the damage is severe.
