The photo drum is a very important component of copiers and laser printers.
It is with its help that toner is applied to a sheet of paper during printing.
Constructively, the photo drum is a metal cylinder (usually aluminum), covered with a layer of photoconductive material - a dielectric, the electrical resistance of which drops sharply under the influence of light radiation.
The photo drum is designed to form on the photosensitive surface, first - a hidden electrostatic image of the document (exposure), and then - obtaining a visible image (manifestation), formed by particles of toner and, then, transferring this image to paper.
As a result, an image appears on the paper, the same as the light illuminated on the photo drum.
