The NVMe base conforms to the new "PIP" design principles developed by Raspberry Pi, which guarantees ease of use and long-term support through Raspberry Pi OS updates - although it's still very early days and the situation is improving quickly!

Raspberry Pi Firmware
To get the most out of your Raspberry Pi, make sure your Raspberry Pi OS is up to date and your RPi 5 firmware is up to date 2023-12-06 (December 6) or later. This supports all the features of the RPi PCIe specification and means you don't have to mess around with configuration files to get up and running.
