Cougar GES 850 is an 850W power supply with 80 PLUS Gold certification, designed to reliably power modern and promising gaming systems. Compliance with the ATX 3.1 standard and PCIe 5.1 support make it a relevant choice for both current configurations and next-generation platforms with multi-core processors.
The key feature of the GES 850 is the native PCIe 12V-2x6 connector. One 12+4-pin cable fully powers next-generation PCIe 5.1 video cards with peak load support up to 200% of nominal power at 100 μs. The stability of the output voltages is provided by the LLC + DC-DC architecture with Tri-Sense triple voltage control. The conversion efficiency reaches 91%, which significantly reduces the cost of electricity and heat load on the system.
Cooling is implemented with the help of a 120 mm fan of Cougar's own development on a Rifle-type bearing. The fan has fluted blades and a stabilizing ring that minimize friction, turbulence and vibration — the result is quiet and efficient cooling even under long-term load. The compact dimensions of the housing allow the unit to be installed in most modern housings. System protection is provided by a full set of security functions: UVP, OCP, SCP, OVP, OTP and OPP.
