Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 50 are premium drives with USB Type-C interfaces that provide enterprise-grade security with FIPS 197-certified 256-bit AES hardware encryption in XTS mode, including BadUSB protection with digital signature, firmware and password hash protection. The VP50 is penetration tested (penetration testing) to ensure enterprise-grade security. Because it provides encrypted storage under the physical control of the user, the VP50 series surpasses the use of the Internet and cloud services to protect data.

Vault Privacy 50 supports multiple password options (Administrator, User and One Time Recovery) in Complex or Passphrase modes. This increases the possibilities of restoring access to data if one of the passwords is forgotten. Traditional Complex Mode allows you to use passwords between 6 and 16 characters using 3 of the 4 character sets. The new passphrase mode lets you use a numeric PIN, a sentence, a list of words, or even text between 10 and 64 characters long. An administrator can enable user and one-time recovery password or reset user password to restore access to data. To make password entry easier, you can enable the eye symbol to show the password you're entering, reducing the number of typos that lead to failed login attempts. Brute force protection blocks user or one-time recovery passwords if 10 incorrect passwords are entered in a row.

To protect against potential malware on untrusted systems, both the administrator and the user can set Read Only mode to protect the drive from writing; in addition, a built-in virtual keyboard protects passwords from keyloggers or screen loggers.

Organizations can configure and configure the VP50 series drives with a Product Identifier (PID) to integrate with standard endpoint management software to meet corporate IT and cybersecurity requirements using the Kingston Configuration Utility.

SMBs can use the Administrator role to manage their drives locally drives, such as using an administrator role to set or reset user passwords or one-time recovery for employees, restore access to data on locked drives, and comply with laws and regulations when forensics is required.
